Do you wish to buy a rural property?

If you intend to by a rural property on the Balearic Islands and you are not an EU citizen, under Spanish law – according to Act 8/1975 of 12^th March 1975, in relation to areas and facilities of interest to National Defense – you must seek military clearance.

Since Brexit, UK citizens must request military authorization when seeking to buy a rural property.  This permit can take between 3 and 6 months to come through.  Among other requirements, the applicant must provide proof of a clean criminal record in their country of origin.
