On 14th December 2024, Law 7/2024 of 11 December, on urgent measures for the administrative simplification and rationalisation of public authorities within the Balearic Islands was approved, including the procedure for the exceptional legalisation of existing buildings, structures, facilities and utilities on rural land that covers the legalisation – exceptionally and within a maximum deadline of 3 years – of buildings on rural land without generally applicable urban planning conditions and parameters being enforced.

As for digital nomads – remote workers – Act 28/2022 of 21st December allows them to enter and remain in Spain for financial reasons if they can prove that they are international teleworkers.
